Power Systems Field Trips

We organise day trips to Aruhiko PEET Member sites and an annual 4-day Power Systems Field Trip for University of Auckland (UoA) and University of Canterbury (UC) students and scholars.

The annual Power Systems Field Trip takes place in the North Island and South Island on alternate years. Usually held in the mid-year break (July), we take around 30 students to see the inner workings of NZ hydropower stations, wind farms, geothermal and co-generation plants, as well as some key consumers.

The Power Systems Field Trips are continually rated highly by students, giving insight and bringing to life learning in true context. Seats on the trips are limited and in high demand.

2026 North Island 4-Day Field Trip

Overview

The trip is based on flights from Christchurch to Auckland, a bus trip from Auckland Airport with nights in New Plymouth, Taupo and Napier then flights from Napier to Auckland and Christchurch.
