Be part of New Zealand's energy journey

Power up your studies with scholarships of up to $13,000 to study a Bachelor of Engineering (Honours) in Electrical and Electronic Engineering at the University of Canterbury (UC) and University of Auckland (UoA). Aruhiko PEET offers scholarships on behalf of all its members as the Aruhiko – Power Engineering Excellence Trust Incoming First-Year Scholarship and Aruhiko – Power Engineering Excellence Trust Undergraduate Scholarship, as well as some individual company and regional scholarships. An outline of what is available is below, please check the full regulations for details and eligibility.

Incoming First-Year Scholarships

Aruhiko PEET
Up to twelve scholarships of $2,000 for incoming First Year applicants (UC).
Genesis Energy
Up to five scholarships of $2,000 for incoming First Year applicants at University of Canterbury, for students who originate from the communities near Genesis Energy sites including Huntly, Tongariro, Waikaremoana and Tekapo.

Apply as a University of Canterbury Incoming First Year

Incoming First Year applications close 7 August and are awarded for the following year of study (applications open approximately 8 weeks before this date).

Aruhiko PEET Undergraduate Scholarship at University of Canterbury

​Annual value of $3,000 in Second or Third Year; $5,000 in Fourth Year. Up to eight scholarships available at each year level of study.

Aruhiko PEET Undergraduate Scholarship at University of Auckland (new for 2025)

​Annual value of $3,000 in Part III; $5,000 in Part IV. Up to four scholarships available at each year level of study.

Aruhiko PEET MainPower Scholarship

$3,000 in Third Year (UC) or $5,000 in Fourth Year (UC).

Aruhiko PEET PSC Consulting Scholarship

$3,000 in Third Year (UC); $5,000 in Fourth Year (UC).

Aruhiko PEET Trust Horizon Scholarship

$3,000 in Second or Third Year (UC) or Part III (UoA), or $5,000 in Fourth Year (UC) or Part IV (UoA), for students who originate from the Whakatāne, Kawerau, Kaingaroa or Ōpōtiki regions. 

Apply as a University of Canterbury undergraduate student

Undergraduate applications close 31 March and are awarded in the same year of study (applications open approximately 8 weeks before this date).

Apply as a University of Auckland undergraduate student

Undergraduate applications open 18 February 2025 and close 1 April 2025. Scholarships are awarded in the same year of study.
